Show ADAM SLEW THE SERPENT. It is rather late in the day for history to bo repeating; itself, but Adam T. Atterbury's happy Eden has been destroyed by a serpent, the same a3 the original Adam's was. Atterbury runs an animal show, and Mrs. Atterbury poses as the snake charmer. Recently Atterbury grew very jealous of the snake because, as he says, his wife was paying more attention to it than to him. He did not follow the example of the primeval Adam, however, for, though the snake was worth $600, he slew it. This all came out in court at Washington, Pa. It shows that serpents have not lost their power to make mischief in the family. |
