Show STATE HIGH SCHOOL MEET ISARRAN6ED SALT LAKE. April 7. Tho athletic council of tho university met yesterday yester-day and made the final arrangements for the state high school track meet, which will bo held on May 14 on Cum-mlngs Cum-mlngs field under the auspices of tno University of Utah. Invitations bavc been sent out to all tho high schools uud Institutions nf secondary rank to compete In this meet. The schools wer notified of tho following fol-lowing rules adopted by the athletic council ; Each contestant shall be doing passing pass-ing work In at least ten hours of school work. No contestant shall be allowed to take part In the meet who is over 21 years of age. Places shall count for pornts as follows: fol-lows: First place shall count 5 points. Second place shall count 3 points. Third place shall count 1 point. The athletic council also decided to givt; a medal to the winners of first places and a loving cup to the school winning the meet. The events and order of events shall be as follows: Track 440-yard trials; ino-yard dash trials; one-mile run; 220-yard dash trials; 440-yard final; 220 yard hurdle trials; 100-yard dash final; RSO-yard run: 220-yard dash final; 220-yard hurdle final. Field Broad Jump, high jump, fole vault, hotput, hammer throw. Relay race. |
