Show PRESBYTERY IN OGDEN APRIL 11 The Presbytery of Utah will convene In the First Presbyterian church of Ogden at 7:30 Monday evening, April 11, the retiring moderator. Rev. Adam O. Frank, pastor of the Presbyterian church In Brlgham City, presiding. After Af-ter the opening address by tho moderator, mod-erator, the Presbytery will be constituted, consti-tuted, and after roll call the election of the new moderator and clerks will be in order. The remainder of Monday evening will be given to a reception by the women of the church to the visiting ministers and delegates. This will bo held in tho church parlors, and refreshments re-freshments will bo served The services of the Presbytery will be resumed Tuesday morning at 9 j, o'clock, with devotional exercises, after af-ter which the retrular business of the session will be taken up In order. The moat Important action Is that of the homo mission commltttee, as this Includes In-cludes the supervision of the general work throughout the state. The coming year will be one of advance ad-vance for the work In this Held, which comprises all of Utah north of Slt Lake county. Two new men will be welcomed to the work, each of them younK and vigorous one, Rev. W. L. Thompson, who this May graduates from the Omaha Theological seminary, will be located in Davis county, and the other. Rev. Arthur Whlttenberger. who arrived last week from complet-Ing complet-Ing a year post-graduate work In Co-lumVila Co-lumVila university, will become a field worker In Cache valley, with headquarters head-quarters at lxgan. From present Indications, the work in this Presbytery will show a marked advance over previous years. The fields will be moro completely and bolter manned than ever before, and all points towards a year's work of earnest progress. Tho work In this section Is now considered most attractive by eastern workers. The era of good will which now Is the characteristic feeling among northern Utah rellKlmiB bodies, the knowledge of the climate and resources re-sources of the state, together with tho rapid development. Industrially and educationally, of the lntermountain region, has resulted In causing eastern east-ern young men to look upon this as a favored location, and twlco as many men have sought work as could bo supplied. This Is a marked change, for three years ago men had to be Induced In-duced to take up the work. |
