Mount Tamalpals. several weeks ago, has at last been solved, at least to the satisfaction of the Marlon county authorities. Mrs. E. S Tutle of Mill Valley yesterday Identified the watch nnd tho fleur de Us pin as those of a Mrs. McKay, who worked for her as a domestic for a time during tho summer of 1508. Tho watch Is tho same timepiece that was Identified by A. B, Wcller in Eureka as having been repaired by his father severol years ano for James McKay, a half-breed half-breed Indian who formerly lived in Humboldt county. The McKay woman lived in Eureka at one time after she had run away from Portland, where her stepmother now lives. According to a story she once told Mrs. Tutle, I she married a man named McKay lu Eureka. The clothing of the woman whose remains were found on the mountain side was purchased In Portland. |
