Show - TOLSTOI CIRCLE. . . t The members of the Tolstoi circle were the guests of Mrs, I. Farrell at the home of her daughter, Mrs L. R. Johnston, 751 Twenty-fourth street, yesterday afternoon. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Nathan Kuhn, Mrs. F. H. King presided. The subject sub-ject for the afternoon study was "WhittJer." Mrs. Ceorge Mole read the poem, "The Light That ls Felt." other selections from Wblttier's poems were read, an autobiography of his life was gnen and a general dls- cusslon of the favored author's life and writings was held. Timely topic, "A Sane Fourth of Inly," was led hy J Mrs. F. H. King, and an interesting and tinlinated discussion followed, but no decision was reached. Following the program tempting refreshments re-freshments were served by Mrs, Farrell, Far-rell, iusslsted by her daughter. Mrs. Johnson, at which time a pleasant social so-cial hour was spent, the meeting adjourning ad-journing to meet again Tuesday, May I7- |
