Ills , tonight secured a confession from an Illinois legislator who is accused of taking $1,000 of his vote In the contest that resulted In the election of Wm. Lorlmer to the U. S. senate. Wjman refused to give tho name of the roan who confesed. Wyman and Detective Murnanc of Chicago stopped at the Southern hotel ho-tel where Murnane made trie following follow-ing statement In the presence of Wyman: Wy-man: "We came here to meet a member of the Illinois legislature because this is the most convenient place. We have been here the greater part of the day and ou can say we got all we were looking for. You mlgiit say wo got a "squeal. " While in St. Louis Wyman called on Circuit Attorney G. Jones. Early in the da Michael S. Link, representing the 17th district in tho Illinois legislature was visited on his farm near Nameokl, Ills, by Wyman and Murnane and a deputy sheriff. |
