Zumwalt of San ; Francisco, regarding the faul illness of her son, who dlod so suddenly, and the cause of his death, In which the doctor says in part: "Now. as to what caused his death. I should be inclined to say that ho ! probably suffered from some one of the "fevers,'' possibly typhoid. Ho was carried to the houpftal In the police po-lice patrol and the officer who accompanied accom-panied him stated to rae'that "people" on tho street thought he had taken poison. lie (your son) was in a state of collapHe and' partially conscious, but would not tell anything of himself, him-self, name, where he had been living, etc. The only question which he answered an-swered was, when I asked him If he had been sick. In reply he said yes. "He at first responded to powerful medication which was given him hy-podermlcally. hy-podermlcally. but only for a short time. His stomach was washed and and contents were sent with his body to the morgue. I feel quite sure that If he had taken "poison," some trace of it would have been found by tho city toxlcologlst, who examined the stomach washings. "Trusting that these few lines may help you to bear your great sorrow, In at least feeling that your son's death was due to "natural causes," and that he did not die a suicide. Very slucerely ', (Signed.) F. H. ZUMWALT, M. D. 135 Stockton street. ( |
