Show TELLS OF STRIKE AT NEVADA HILLS Manager Webber Says New Ore Body Solve Big Problem at Mine. Salt Lake. March New6: W. II. Webber, manager of the Nevada Hills mine at Fairview. came into Goldfleld last evening with James R. Davis, vice president of the Nevada Hills company, com-pany, after a trip to Round Mountain, where they Inppected the property of the Round Mountain Mining company, snjs the Gold field News. "I must confess that I was surprised at ihe present showing of the Round Mountain mine," said Mr. Webber. I visited It one about two years ago, and at that time I made up my mind that they had what might be called 'a gooJ little mine,' but I never expected to see it develpo into what it Is today. Two years ago, at a depth of about 125 feet, there was a small streak of nice ore in the shaft, and although it was well formed, there was not much Indication, so far as I could discover, for the property to become one of the great mines of Nevada. "The Round Mountain company ha3 as nice a little milling plant as anyone could wish for, handling 90 tons of pre a day and turning out $1,000 worth of bullion every 21 hours. Plans have been made for Increasing the capacity to 110 tons, and. tho enlarged . operations opera-tions are to be aided by the extension of electric power lines into the district, dis-trict, and the installing of power drills, electric hoist, etc. "One of the new things that adds to the future possibilities of this property is the recent discovery of another vein, by some leasers, pitching toward the main vein, and undoubtedly uniting unit-ing therewith on its dip. The "quart, in this vein is noarly pure silica, car-rjing car-rjing no metal but gold, and may prove to have been an Important factor fac-tor In the enrichment of tho old vein on which the principal work of tho com pan v has been done. "I am willing to admit that 1 was fooled In my first estimate of tho property, prop-erty, but I would rather be fooled that way any time than the other." In speaking of recent deelopments at the Nevada Hills mine, Mr. Webber stated that they were At a most satisfactory satis-factory nature, and showed that tho property had only entered upon the best part of its career, although It has already produced more than a million dollars from above the 200 level. |
