Show been started this camp is to have a more active tluio this year than ever before. ; I ' The Dutchman Mine Leasing company, com-pany, in which Thomas " Marionoatix. Joseph Lippman. and '4a', number of other Salt Lake people are interested, has commenced . hauling ore for tae season. At the property it is said that there Is enough ore blocked out to Insure In-sure steady shipping as long as. the lease lasts. ... A. U. Plnckley, superintendent of tho Whirlwind property, has gone back to his old position there and will endeavor to put the mine In shape for a shipper. This propert is said to be. one of the most promising, and under. Mr. Plnckley it Is believed that it can be developed into one of the good mines' of the district. Some months ago Mr. Plnckley was obliged to give up his work on the property on account of his health. General Manager J. C. Jensen of the Mineral Flat property returned Thursday Thurs-day morning from the property. He asserted that it was untrue that a strike had been mado and that there was not much foundation to the story that ore had been encountered. lie declared that the upper tunnel, many inonth.3 ago, tapped a fine body of ore. The management Is now" sending send-ing In two tunnels to tap the same dike at greater depth. Paralleling this mineral dike Is a porphyry dike and this was struck several days ago and this has been gone through 20 feet and it contains no ore. This is probably what started the rumor that ore had been struck. The , dike is about 30 feet wide. The tunnels are being worked by two shifts, and it is believed that the time is not, far away when the vein, it it continues at the same dip, should be encountered. Pert Wootton. who has charge of the development work at the Mountain Moun-tain Dell, has ordered a load of supplies sup-plies sent to the mine this week. The connection in the up-rlse, for which tho company has been working for more than a year, will be completed in about three, weeks. It has but 33 feet to go to meet the upper workings. The tunnel and up-ralse has been built with an idea for permanent use and a sub-station ore chute Is going right up with the raise. The miners wero forced to give up work above on account ac-count of water. They had opened up considerable high grade silver ore which will soon bo In roach, and can be mined economically through the new tunnel, which will also drain the mine. Nine miners aro now working, and as soon as tho connection is made the force will be doubled. Bert reports re-ports there Is still four feet of snow at the mine, but it is molting fajt. Carbonate has been selected for the canyon postoilice, which will be opened open-ed in about two weeks with Bert Chip-man Chip-man aos postmaster. The office will be located at tho Dutchman property, and will have a daily mail service. Mr. Chlpman has received his commission com-mission and tent his bonds to Washington Wash-ington this week.
