V ' The Telhirldc Power and Transmission Transmis-sion company, which is a potent factor in the rnatterof generating and transmitting trans-mitting electricity throughout the state of Utah, the company having a lino from Logan to Provo and from Logan to Grace, Idaho, is now preparing to make Improvements in Its transmission transmis-sion service that 16 of much moment. A single transmission wire is now being utilized by the company in Utah, but within the next few months there will be two wires doing the work of carrying the electrical current tnat furnishes light and power in a num.- ber of cities of the slate. The com-; pany now has something like live ' hundred miles of polos to which aro ' attached electric wires. These poles j have been in place for a number ot j years, but, according to the estimate ! made by the managers of the company, they will have to be replaced within the next couple of years. . The contemplated plan of the company com-pany is to supplement the wooden poles with steel towers. The work of placing these towers will begin I within the next two weeks, embrac- j ing the section of country between ; Logan and Salt Lake.v The towers t will be as high as the present wooden j polos that support theelectric wires j of the systom. They will be placed I in cement at the base, which wilt , cover about five square feet of space. The towers will be made of steel from top to bottom and will be so constructed con-structed as to support two wires, The company also contemplates using two wires from Logan to Grace, Idaho, nut the steel towers will. not be utilized there until some ruture time. .1 |
