Show taken o an orchard south of the city and asked to pick out trouble on the .trees of the orchard and to prescribe the remedy for the difficulty. The questions which the inspectors were required to answer Included descriptions de-scriptions of the peach tree borer, San Jose scale, strawberry leaf-roller, the naming of tho insects injurious to fruits, vines and whrubs, the equipment equip-ment requiied to carry on defensive work against the codling moth, methods me-thods of pruning, the appearance of pear blight and the preparation of tree sprays. A careful examination of the pain pa-in is will be made and the results of the practical tests will be carefully discussed by members of the commission com-mission before the inspectors are accepted. SIXTEEN APPLICANTS ARE BEFORE EXAMINING BOARD Sixteen applicants appeared before the examining board composed of State Horticultural - Inspector J. Edward Ed-ward Taylor -and Prof. i. G. Titus of I the Agricultural college, and applied for positions as deputy inspectors. The examinations were held in the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce building in Salt Lake Saturday afternoon.
