Speaking last night before the New York Sunday Sun-day school association convention, Dr. M. W'oolsley Stryker, president ot Hamilton college, denounced what he styled sporadic teaching in Sunday fcchool classes. He said there were too many teachers who had no particular partic-ular knowledge of their subject, and he urged a more seriouB study ou the Bible. "The basis of Christian faith.' he said, "is historic fact. It Is ln the book, and we have got to know the fact and tho book." Other speakers did not agree with Dr. Stryker. for they declared that ho had failed to take Into account the self-sacrifice of the vast army of 1,-GOO.OOO 1,-GOO.OOO unpaid Sunday school teachers in this country.
