Show CONFERENCE OF WEBER STAKE QUARTERLY MEETING HELD AT OGDEN TABERNACLE. Wards In Prosperous Condition, Apostles Apos-tles Heber J. Grant and D. O. McKay Speakers. The quarterly conference of the Weber stake was held In the Ogden tabernacle yesterday, three sessions being held. A splendid musical programme pro-gramme was given by the tabernacle choir and the building was filled to overflowing by members of that stake. . The reports from the different wards of the stake wero to the effect that they are all In a flourishing condition and that the people generally are prosperous. pros-perous. During the afternoon session of the conference the authorities of the stake were unanimously sustained In their various callings by the assemblage. as-semblage. Apostles Ilobcr J. Grant and DavM O. McKay were the principal speakers of the day, they dwelling largely upon educational subjects Apostle Grant spoke upon the theme of the duty of those w-bq aro educated to use their talents for good. He maintained that It was the duty of those who wero In a position to give Instruction to give it unstintlngly and to devote as much of their time In the education of othors as possible. Apostle McKay spoke interestingly of the duties devolving upon parents in the true education of vthelr children chil-dren and In their early training, He said that If the narcntB would only start thoir children out In the right direction while they are In their tender ten-der years, that they are not very apt to go astray In the days of their man hood and womanhood. . The evening session was devoted to the mutual improvement plan of education and the goneral work devolving upon tho ycunc people who are meinbors of that or ganlzatlon. |
