In the early eighties, and is well remembered by old timers there. Ho owned a small fruit ranch near the town. He was killed In a quarrel with a neighbor about SS7. Mr. Witz had married Zetta Roupe, whose brother, Jim Roupe, is still a resident in that vicin-. ity. Mrs. Witz continued to reside in Asotin for a few years following the death of her husband, finally moving east. Old timers at Asotin have no recollection recol-lection of a couple named Thompson, by whom Mrs. Woodill is said to havo been adopted.
