Hjlmar Anderson was arraigned for drunkenness and, although admitting that he was guilty, still persisted that, ho was feeling very bad Wednesday when asked to take a drink with a friend. He begged to be allowed the privilege of getting out of town, but the court was obdurate and gave him twenty days, saying that Hjlmar was a much neater, cleaner-appearing man '1 iu captivity than when roaming at large about the city. A case of battery preferred against John Miller and George C. Rose by W. H. Derrett, who claimed that the men foil upon and beat one George L. Toone in a shameless manner, Wednesday, Wed-nesday, was ordered continued on the request of the defendant's attorney. The court was not leniently lucllned and sentenced him to 10 days on the rock pile. Thomas Arthur Melvln and Pat Murphy Mur-phy were arraigned on the charge of drunkenness. They are the men who were arrested Wednesday afternoon by G. R. Lawrence, JQ charge of the Armory, and who succeeded in break-lng break-lng the handcuff with which Lawrence, Law-rence, secured them while waiting for I the arrival of Captain Brown and the patrol wagon. Lawrence succeeded in holding his prisoners in spite of his useless accessories and the men were finally jailed. Both men pleaded gull- |
