Show jMISS M'FARLAND HONORED IN SHOWER1 Miss Catherine McFarland. a brjde-elect. brjde-elect. was entertained Thursday evening eve-ning at a miscellaneous shower by the Misses R T Shopherd and Frances Maddock at the Maddock home, Bl6 Washington avenue. A two-course luncheon was served by the hostesses. Fall flowers were' used for decorations. 1 The guests were Mrs. Ida Maddock, Mrs Eva Hunston. Mrs. Gladys Bart- llett, Mrs. Artell Chandler. Mrs. Jen-' nle Coleman. Misses Thclma McFar-land. McFar-land. Ruby Denkers, Florence Streep-, er, Leah Bateman, Ethel Bateman. , Myrtle Rawson und Myrtle Smuln. Miss Beryl Berlnger, one of the ic- year-old honor graduates from tho Ogden High school bust spring, is now attending the University of Chicago. All students in the university are re- quired to take an entrance examination examina-tion In English Miss Berlnger's ?x- ! nmlnatlon was of such excellent quality qual-ity that she was exempted from the freshman English and given credit for the course without taking It. Miss I Berlnger will be remembered as li ! musician, dancer and athlete of unusual un-usual ability. She spent most of tho summer isltlng In Nebraska and Iowa, but now expects to make h r home permanently In Chicago. She has many friends In Ogden who will watch her career In the university with interest. Mrs Jack Wood and Mrs. William Taylor were the hostesses at a delightful de-lightful birthday shower given in honor of their sister. Mrs. Morris of Washington, at the home of Mrs. Taylor, Tay-lor, 744 Ogden avenue, last week. The afternoon wus spent with music mu-sic and games. A luncheon was later served Mrs. Morris received many beautiful presents. ThOSfl present were Mesdames R. Roylance en-, tertained at their homo In North Ogden Og-den recently at a parcel shower in, honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Roy- lance, who were married during the first part of the month in the Salt Lake temple. Mrs. Roylance was formerly for-merly Miss Jauetta M. Ferrln. On hundred guests were In attendance. The homo was beautifully decorated with cut flowers. The newiyweds were the recipients of many beautiful presents. pres-ents.
