Show BEGER FARMERS LOGAN SIS Given First Place in Total Points Scored in Contests (Special IMspatch) LOGAN, July 29 -Representatives of the Weber county farm bureau were given first place tonight in the contests, winning against teams entered en-tered in the various contests by all of the counties in the state, at the farmers encampment. Weber county won by a total score of 2611 points, carrying off the trophy cup In the Judging contests and also the trophy cup in ibe horseshoe pitching contest. Box Elder came second sec-ond with a score of 2504 points. In the Judging contest 48 persons were entered, consisting of three men Judging grains and polatoe .-. three Judging dairy cattle. In whit ! Weber county took first place with a team composed of C. S- Pdttef and Gflber! Thatcher, both of Ogden and W .1 Wilson of Eden; three men in Judging beef cattle, three on hogs, three on sheep and three on horses In the woman's work contests teams were entered in dress forms, home nursing, making fly traps, first place in which contests was won by Mrs. Jnmes G. Widoson of Hooper; dressmaking, dress-making, cleaning and pres.-lng. In the horseshoe pitching contest the trophy cup was won by C. E. and Parl-y Taylor of Plain City, who, if they should win the trophy during the contest of the second year, will be allowed to keep it. The attendance from Weber county was 270. and the attendance from the entire 6tate was 2200. Officials that dad the encampment in charge said that it was one of th1 most, successful ever held by the Utah Agricultural college. |
