July 27 Announcement Announce-ment was made W ednesday by C A Allen district mining supervisor of the United States bureau of mines 1 that applications for permits to mine, for coal had been filed by J. T. Rain.., E. L. Rains, A. H. Jenklnson, R. T.I Collier and H M Din woody, all Of) Salt Iak and by William Stephens of Cedar City. Tho area to bo covered by the Salt Ixike men embraces 1360 acres In township 3 7 south, range 14 west, Silt Lake merldan, and the methods to be used to determine the workability of the deposits will consist of diamond core drilling.
