Show SAWYER DENIES LEGION CHARGE Says Government Is Doing All Possible for Disabled Dis-abled Men WASHINGTON. July 27 Replying to charges that as chief co-ordlnator of the federal board of hospitalization i he had delayed and obstructed tho government s program for care of disabled dis-abled war veterans, Brigadier-General Sawyer, President Hardlng'a porsonal physician. In a formal statement Wednesday, Wed-nesday, declared "facts certainly show that the LTnlted States government is doing every consistent thing possible for the disabled veteran; and for the length of time at Its disposal everything every-thing has been achieved which human agency could accomplish." General Sawyer's statement was in reply to the charge, made public yesterday yes-terday in Chicago by A. A. Sprague chairman of the national rehabilitation rehabilita-tion committee, of the American legion, leg-ion, that the president's physician was stanrling in the way of hospltali7.ation work.
