I ' were caused by war conditions anel the efficient operation of the railroads In support of th government during tho war Justifies every act cif the administration ad-ministration during that period" Mr McAdon also quoted the executives execu-tives tO the effect that "It v;us impossible impos-sible to avoid the increase of wagea which were granted and those which are pending are Inherently a result ot the same causes." The executives ascribed the necessity neces-sity for wage Increases to "war industries in-dustries surrounding the railroad.-, ot nil sides paying war prices for labor; und depleting tho railroad supply of I labor, particularly the supply of skill. .! labor " |
