April 16, when the Service Star Legion, cooperating co-operating with thr city, will plant one Norway maple tree for each soldier. bordering Madison avenue ave-nue from Twentieth street to at-m at-m Farr park. Each tree will bear a permanent metal tablet containing contain-ing the name of a soldier who died in the service Mrs. J. O. Falck. head of the Service Star Legion here, and P. S. Baker appeared before fhe board of city commissioners this morning and appealed for municipal munici-pal co-operation In the plan. The appeal won Immediate response and the board agreed to assume: ih responsibility of maintaining the trees in future years- Scj far as ran be determined. here were fifty-eight men In Weber We-ber county who gave their lives to their country In action or through death in the service, Mrs. Palck said This Will mean that on Arbor Day at least this number num-ber of trees will be planted with others to be set out when Information Informa-tion Is gained of any additional men who died The commissioners agreed with Vr.. Falck uid Mr. Baker that there could be no more befitting memorial to the men of Weber county than the planting and care of the- beautiful maple trees. Which will always eall attention to the sacrifices made by Weber county manhood for a great cause.
