One has to do with the term of office of the stale engineer. L nder the present law this officer is to hold office for a period of six years from the tlm of his appointment. The .McShane .Mc-Shane hill provides that the governor may terminate the stat engineer's term of office at his uisli and without offering" explanations. Another bill by the same legislator provides that the governor may also exercise the same power with reference refer-ence to the members of tho Hah pub-li' pub-li' utilities commission. The third bill by McShane relates to the bonds of state officers. This bill provides that the state treasurer mut supply a bond lo the amount of 1350,000, the state auditor, $50,000; the secretary of state. $25,000 and the attorney general $.".000. The bill provides that the bonds, must be underwritten by surely com-i panics and the stute shall pay the premiums. pre-miums. Similar provision is made with regurd to the deputies in the Core-going Core-going offices.
