Show Leading German Socie-; ties Warn Against Disregard Dis-regard of Principles PEOPLE DESPERATE Policy of Hate and Annihilation An-nihilation of Allies May Force War. BERLIN. Thursday. April 3 (By the Associated Press) Lending ethical, philosophical and religious societies ol German have addressed an appeal to President Wilson, givine: warning against a disregard of principles to which Mr. Wilson has pledged himself him-self which, they claim, induced Germany Ger-many to lay dowi arms. The appeal declares that "if the Germans are driven to desperation they would rather ra-ther become Bolshevik! than slaves." and charges the Czechs and Poles with anticipating the conclusions of the peace conference and violating the Wilsonlan principles. It says the Allies Al-lies "are not only condoning the acts of the Czechs and Poles, bul are supporting sup-porting tho.-e nations It is maintained the Allies provoked ; anarchistic conditions in Germany b j refusing to relax the blockade. In discussing the possibility of a revival of military movement, the appeal says: "Only one thing again weld the Germans Ger-mans of every state into a warlike power the continuation of the policy of hate and annihilation that has been pursued by the Allies." Mr. Wilson is warned that the United Uni-ted States, "with its great fortune and billion dollar trusts" Is a fertile field for communism." and suggested that wealthy Americans "had better support sup-port the league of nations." |
