Show ST Murder Proceedings Against Bigamist Held Up by Late Development LOS ANGELES, May 1. The failure fail-ure of a searching party to find the bo'dy of Nina Lee Dcloney, according to tho district attorney, may delay further proceedings against Walter Andrew Watson, alleged bigamist and murderer. Watson, in a statement made Thursday night, was alleged to have told of a scoro of marriages and of the subsequent murders of four of the women he had wed. Mrs. Deloney was one or the murdered mur-dered ones, ho said, and gave explicit directions for finding her grave in San Diego county. Visit the Spot. District Attorney Thomas Lee Wool-wine Wool-wine with a party of investigators, went lo tho spot ho had indicated, bu. a search of several hours failed to disclose dis-close the location of tho woman's body. In order to bring a successful charge of murder against the man, Woolwinc said, it is necessary to find tho body, to completo the needed proof. Mrs. Dcloney was- the only one of tho women alleged to have been killed m Los Angeles county, hence, the murder proceedings aro at a standstill until this point is cleared. Photographs of the probable location loca-tion where the body was concealed will be shown to Watson today, and ho will bo asked to indicate tho spot for a further search. Hospital authorities say Walson has not yet sufficiently recovered from his two attempts at self-destruction to stand a long automobile trip to the place he said ho buried Mrs. Deloney's body. Other than the progress of the search for Mrs. Deloney's body, events moved slowly in Watson's case. There is an agreement, it was announced by the district attorney's office, that he would plead guilty to a charge of murder, mur-der, and be given a sentence of life imprisonment. oo |
