Show 'IE TGLL GUI' IS FIRST RELEASE OF W.S.IITC1PM Star Is Again "Two-gun Man" in Thrilling Picture of the West The southwestern frontier in the olden, golden days Is the scene of Will-jam Will-jam S. Hart's new picture, "The Toll 'Gate," It is the first of tho big productions pro-ductions made by Mr. Hart's own company com-pany under his own supervision to be released by Paramount-Artcraft, The Alhambra theatro will show it for several sev-eral days, commencing tomorrow. As Black Deering, the hero, Mr. Hart has the rolo of the leader of a bandit band, who Is betrayed by one of his own men. He dashes away from his captors and, losing tho sheriff's posse after a series of thrilling episodes, epi-sodes, he comes upon tho lonely cabin where the wife of his betrayer lives. Ho slays the traitor and then, touched to tho heart by the kindness of the innocent in-nocent wife and her child, ho gives himself up to the law. But an understanding under-standing sheriff allows him to depart over tho Mexican bordor to freedom. "Tho Toll Gate" is an impressive drama of self-sacrifice and red-blooded manhood as well as a glowing picture of tho west that has passed away. Mr. Hart is supported by a capable company, com-pany, headed by beautiful Anna Nilson His remarkably intelligent Pinto pony figures prominently in the big scenes. The star collaborated with Lambert Hillyer in writing the story and directing direct-ing the picture. |
