Show uu JUDGE SHOUTS SENTENCE TO DEAF PRISONER Judge A. XV. Agee of the district dis-trict court faced u complex problem prob-lem this morning when Howard Antes entered a plea of guilty to B charge of burglary in the second degree. It was discovered before sentence that the man could neither hear nor read. The man was necessarily called to the bench where Judge A-ee was compelled to stand and yell the sentence several times In the prisoner's pris-oner's ear. Each time Antes signaled sig-naled that he did not understand. With each repeated sentence getting louder and loud'-r antes at last nodded that he understood that he was to go to the stute penitentiary for a term of from one to twenty years. Antes plead guilty to a charge of having burglarized the home of Christian Bouwhuis, one mile west of the termination of Twenty-third Twenty-third street on July 27. Ho was turned over to the sheriff to be taken to the penltentlar |
