It is estimated that no lesa than C000 persons enjoyed the privileges privil-eges of the auto-camping grounds in Ogden and Salt Lake during the last month These figures show a decided Increase In-crease over the auto traffic for the same month of 1310. when there were 165S auto tourists registered with the association. Traffic this year has been the heaviest ever recorded. Slr.ce spring the dally total has averaged nearly 100 per cent above the corresponding corre-sponding dales of last vear The June total of 1 655 this vear showed the highest percentage gain of an) month There were but 7ii2 auto tourists registered regis-tered with the association in June of 1919. Since August 1 the association register reg-ister has been ar;igin;. v i 1 1 above 1 Oo persons a day and indications are that the end of this month will have seen more than 4000 out-of-state visitors visi-tors applying at the association headquarters head-quarters for road Information. The Pike's Peak route into the Uintah basin from the oast shows the greatest Increase in travel of any route enu ring Sal I while the Lincoln highway from the west is the onlv route to show a decrease in traffic for the month The Automobile association records contain a survey of all routes in and out of Utah and indicate that Salt Iake is constantly becoming more popular with the transcontinental tourist as a camping spot. |
