Ferrand, of Salt Lake, will lose' her Paige automobile next Monday, Mon-day, when it will bes old at auction by Sheriff Brig Robinson to satisfy an order of the district court, District Attorney At-torney Dobb3 announced today. The money received from the sale of the car will go to the state. I Mrs. Ferrand's automobile has had I a Hhort. stormy and eventful career, jit has figured In two big "contraband liquor running cases" both of which came to a sad end as the result of the vigilence of Sheriff H. C. Peterson and deputies in Weber canyon. The automobile was purchased by i Mrs. Ferrand In Salt Lake in August, j t'ltilS. In October the automobile wasj seized In Weber canyon by Sheriff Peterson and deputies when it was found to be loaded with liquor. The drivers of the car wcro fined $250 each and the liquor confiscated. The Hlate was to confiscate the auto but ' Mrs. Ferrand's petition for tho recov-i recov-i ery of the car was granted by Judge A. B. Pratt, before whom the case was called. Within two days after the release of the car, Sheriff Peterson- again seized the automobilo in Weber canyon. can-yon. It was drivon by A. Davis of Salt' Lake. The car carried about 600 pints of liquor. The order of confiscation was agalu taken up' with the court. Judge Pratt ordered that the automobile automo-bile be confiscated and sold.
