Show Idaho Company Plans Million Dollar Plant i RUPERT, Idaho, Feb. 9. The build-Ing build-Ing of a million dollar sugar factory at Rupert was discussed at a meeting held at the court house: D. C. Summers Sum-mers and A. A. Merrill, officials of the Idaho Cooperative Beet Sugar company com-pany of Twin Falls, outlined the preliminary pre-liminary plans. A total of about $100,-000 $100,-000 would have to be raised locallv by the sale of memberships to beetgTow-ers beetgTow-ers and others, two shares of stock at $100 each, the maximum amount of stock lasucd to one person being $5000. Eight per cent Interest Is paid on the money invested. The balance of the cost of construction, construc-tion, about $S00,000, it was reported, can be raised by eastern capitalists, who are willing to invest in such an enterprise when assured of the fact that local farmers and business men are interosted. The farmers present at Wednesday's meeting signed contracts con-tracts to furnish ninety-three acres of : beets. At present two thousand acres must be obtained before a factorv can jbe secured. |
