The City Federation of Women's clubs met in the City Hall the first Monday of December and the principal prin-cipal topics discussed were the need for a new constitution and by-laws, drafted by a special committee, appointed ap-pointed by the president, Mrs William Douglas At this meeting a letter from Mrs. Woodrow Wilson ami dated "Washington, Oetobei 2, 1919, The White House," was read and filed by Mrs. Joel Ricks secretary of the Federation. Fed-eration. The letter follows "Mrs Wilson wishes to express to ihe Ogden Federation of Women's clubs her warm thanks for the cordial greetings thev sent with the exquisite flowers which she enjoyed o much coming as such a delightful greeting lrom the Federation." Upon the request of Miss Rich, a special representative to the Federation, Federa-tion, a unanimous vote was given in favor of the sponsoring of the Fisher- Hunter benefit recital to be given in February A petition was drafted to the board of education of the city as follows: "Honorable Gentlemen: fter careful care-ful consultation of the social needs of Ogden City High school, the Ogden Federation of Women's clubs petitions you to appoint a Dean of Women, with no other duty than protector and counselor of women, when not under special class instructors; said dean to report and be subject to the supenn-1 supenn-1 tendent of public instruction The Federation also voted unanimous unanim-ous support of the sale of Red Cross seals in the city The next meeting of the organiza tion will be held Januarv 6, 1920. in the Citv Hall. Queen Either Chapter Eastern Star. The members of the Queen Esther I Chapter. No. 4, Order of the Eastern I Star, held a special meeting in the 1 Masonic hall last evening for the I purpose of initiation. Following the legular course of events the ladies were given a surprise in the form of a special entertainment at which the gentlemen were hosts The party was planned in honor of the retiring of-licers of-licers and was indeed pleasant, the lime being spent in music and dancing until a late hour. The hosts served very nicely prepared refreshments Royal "500" Club. Mrs. John Royle was hustesi--. to the members of the Royal "500" club last I Thursday afternoon and the guests enjoyed the Ksmc until about S O'clock, when Mrs Royle served re freshments. Honors at cards were given to Mrs. T G Brown and Mrs Harry Peterson. The next meeting of the club will be announced later. S. O. H. Club. The S. O. H. club gathered, on December De-cember 8, at the home of Mies Marguerite Mar-guerite Clements, on Lincoln avenue After the usual business meeting a musical program was given, which was greatly appreciated by all present; pres-ent; especially pleasing were seeral piano selections charmingly rendered j by the hostess Later delicious refreshments re-freshments were sered. Miss Mary Dunn will receive the members at 3031 Grant, on December 15th Bueno Tiempo Club. The Bueno Tiempo club held a busl ness meeting at the home of Ruth Nelson, 1789 Center street, last Friday evening, December 12. The members of the club have made plans for se -eral good limes durine the next two weeks' Among those planned is a bob-party bob-party which will be given Saturday evening. December 13, and a schooner-party schooner-party which will be given some time next week The club members have also planned to give another dance in ; January, which will be a leap year idance. The subject for the afternoon will be Better Book Week " Martha Society. The ladies of the Martha Society met last Monday afternoon with Mrs. R E. Bristol at her home on Van Bu ron avenue and Twenty fifth street and made full arrangements for the Christmas which will be afforded for I the little folks of the Day Nursery Mrs. D. C. Eccles, Mrs. Joseph E. Wright, and a third lady of the Martha Mar-tha Society were appointed as a ! Christmas committee and no pleasure which may be given the children of the nursery on this day will be over looked. Mr. D. C. Eccles gae a very substantial sum toward the Christmas needs and lrom each member of the society an amount was collected.
