Show Adoption of Ten Resolutions Resolu-tions by United States Stirs France PARIS. Nov. 17 -The news of the adoption by the United States senate Ol ten reservations to the German peace treat) was received with great interest in peace conference circles. The point being apparently most dis cussed b ihe delegates In general is as to whether ihe senate will ultimately ulti-mately Insist upon the reservations being be-ing formally approved by the other governments, as now specified nethe 'preamble. In French circles, the indications in-dications are that the French Keern ment is not prepared to give its formal for-mal approval. There likewise is much speculation as to how far the American reserve tions might possibly affect the reservations reserva-tions some of the minor powers, such as China, Rumania and Jugo slavia de sire to make. China has never signed the German peace treat y The Chinese delegates offered to sign it subject to a reservation reserva-tion on the question of Shantung, but were not permitted to do so. Rumania and Jugoslavia did not sign the Austrian Aus-trian peace treaty, taking exception to the clause regarding the protection of racial minorities. nr. |
