Fund drive was formadlly launched j this noon when the men who did such j splendid work last year met In the Weber club and took the responsibility responsibili-ty lor the same territory they hud in1 Charge when the second war lund was raised over a year apo. Then vVeber' county was asked for nearly eighty thousand dollars. The amount asked for the last of all war fund drives forj the American Red Cross ls $7775. Let it be clearly gotten In mind just the distinction of the Red Cross money asked of all Americans this week The membership roll rail drie is for n.em-bership n.em-bership only, and Is for one dollar a person. This American war fund Red i Cross drive is entirely a separate one, and is for the needed money to com plcte tho war work that remains to be: done. It has nothing to do with the memberships at all. It Is for money to' complete what Is needed in tho war countries and what is needed for the) soldiers abroad. It Is the last jf the war fund drives, Ogden chapter is j asked for $7775. Salt Lake chapter is asked for about $46,000. Each community com-munity ls asked for a proportional nmounL At the meeting this noon the men under the leadership of the War Fund Chairman Ralph E Bristol discussed the whole situation and will carry out the drive In the alloted time of November Novem-ber 2 to 11 The manv individuals and Institutions of the city will be called upon by the men assigned to their territory ter-ritory and asked for the amount they will give. This will either be paid in cash of in two payments, one November Novem-ber 15 and the other Dec. 15. Mr St 11 will of the Publicity bureau will act as secretary of the Third War Fund and supplies may be secured from him. Ogden is being asked this week to do just what all other cities are asked Thai is that the membership drive for one dollar memberships and the war fund drive for enough money to complete com-plete the war work be carried on at the same time by different commit tees and that the work be completed by Armistice day. |
