The star, Alice Brady, who is already well known to local picture patrons, is now starring in a new spoken drama dra-ma in Now York. In "Her Great Chance," Miss Brady plays the part of Lola, a shop girl. She is in love with Charlie Cox, Broadway's "Million-Dollar Kid." The part of Charlio Cox is admirably handled by David Powell, who has played tho leading male roles in a number of other Alice Brady productions. pro-ductions. Mr. Powell is a talented actor ac-tor and is well on the way to stardom in his own right. a When Lola Gray, a poor salesgirl, hears that her lover, Charlie Cox, known as the "Million-Dollar Kid," has gone on another drunken rampage, she decides to leave him for his own sake. Cox, Senior, who till now has patiently pa-tiently withstood all these disgraces, confers with his attorney, to whom Lola's sister, Ida Bell is confidential secretary. A new will is drawn cutting cut-ting Charlie off without a heritage. Charlie is not aware of this npw calamity, and tries to persuade Lola to marry him. but she declines. Immediately Immed-iately upon her arrival at home, her sister relates in a jealous manner that Charlie is penniless. Lola believing now that Charlie will need her in hiA new struggle comes to him and they are married. Cox, senior, passed away while sleeping, the night before, and Charlio Char-lio ascertains his financial condition, but with a look of bravery on his face, draws his wife to him, new hope written writ-ten all over his countenance. on |
