Show PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CONh-I. TUTION HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION RESOLU-TION NUMBER NINti . A Joint resolution providing for an amtud aent to Section 4, Article 13, of ths Const!, tution of the State of Utah relating to th taxation of mines and mining property fend the assessments of same. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the SUt of Utah, two-thirds of all the members elected to the two houses concurring therein : Section 1. That it is proposed to ncHnd Section 4, Article 13 of the Constitution of thi State of Utah to that the came will read as follows : Section i. All metalliferous mines or Mln. Ing claims, both placer and rock In place, shall be assessed at 15.00 per acre, and in addttion thereto at a value based upon some multlpU r sub-multiplo of the net annual proceed! thereof. All other mines or mining cbdnu and other valuable mineral deposits, includine lands containing coal or hydro-carbons, shall be assessed at their full value- All machinery srd In mining and all property or sarfaet Improvements upon or appurtenant to mine r mining claims, and the value of any sarfaca use made of mining claims, or mining property for other than mining purposes, shall b assessed at full value. The state board ol equalization shall assess and tax all property herein enumerated, provided that the assesf ment of $3.00 per acre and the assessment of tho ralus of any use other than for mlnJn purposes shall be made as provided by law. Section 2. The Secretary of State is hereby directed to submit this propo-jed amendment to the electors of the Stato at the next general gen-eral election in the manner prescribed by law. Section 3.
