OIHIIEDBPH MHE HAPPY JT THE CANTEEN Tho canteen established and broke a record in sandwich -making inside of a half hour today. About one hundred men, some discharged dis-charged from service, others just passing pass-ing through, rushed the canteen, and the bread and jam began to fly. One young chap stationed himself securely by the worker who was making sandwiches sand-wiches and, for several minutes straight, as rapidly as the sandwiches took form, he ate. "Believe mo boys, this coffee Is just like mother tried to make," and upon such recommendation a dozen or more handed their cups back to be refilled. "This is the day tho diner gets beat out of some fow dollars," announced one, "for what moro could a man want than all the jam and bread and coffee ho can hold?" When tho boys departed but not until tho train was ready to leave the canteen workers fell into chairs exhausted ex-hausted but happy, for thoy had made one hundred boys glad, and after all, that Is all that's necessary. 00
