Show SKIES DARKENED BY WILD GAME REGINA. Sask . Dec. 19 Wild ducks and geese have begun their southward migrations. Thesp fowl come to western west-ern Canada by the million in the spring and spend the summer and car- ;ly autumn- here to raise their young. j Every pot-hole, stream and little lake I in the country are covered with them 'and western Canada during the shooting shoot-ing season is a sportsman's paradise. During the last Tew weeks the skies have been darkened by ducks and geese trying their pinions for their long trip to their southern wintering grounds. Only a few nights ago the first great southward exodus began. When Regina awakened from a night's sleep recently, hundreds of wild ducks wero found lying dead in the streets and on the porches of Ijomes jeady to ' be cooked for breakfast. They had been killed by flying against electric light and telephone poles. They made a relishing addition that day to Regina ! menus, i |
