Show TROOPS APPRECIATE COURTESIES SHOWN POCATELLO, Aug. 26. That the troop stationed at the Idaho State Technical Institute appreciate the entertainments en-tertainments and courtesies extended the men by the people of Pocatello was demonstrated yesterday when the hoys issued a letter of appreciation to the citizens of this city. The boys have been at the school for about two months taking special training In mechanics, me-chanics, and expect to bo called to other parts this woek. During their stay the people of the city have arranged ar-ranged numerous receptions for tho officers and men, the last of which will bo given tonight by the Ladles' Sodality of St. Joseph's church. This party will be given in the Knights of Pythias hall, and the programme will include music, speeches, dancing and refreshments. Last week the boys presented Captain Cap-tain R. O. Scott a smoke outfit as a mark of appreciation for the good work he has accomplished in "making finished soldiers out of raw recruits," the term expressed by Sergeant Mc-Kuight Mc-Kuight in making the presentation speech. Three lieutenants were also honored by the boys with smoke outfits out-fits and one a gold fountain pen. It is likely that the men will be divided when leaving Pocatello, and be distributed dis-tributed among the various camps of the country. |
