OCR Text	Show MfLROID BOOSTS OIL SHALE IW WEST The D. & R. G. Is expending large sums of money in tho exploitation and development of the oil Bhale lands in eastern Utah and western Colorado. "According to tho United States government geologists the oil shales of these districts aro almost beyond calculation." said a Denver & Rio Grande official today. "It is, estimated that there are 20,000 square miles of shales, containing an estimated total of 2U.000.000 barrels of crude oil and 300.000.000 "million tons of ammonia phosphate." The Rio Grande also is reminding the public, with proper pride, that it has pioneored in opening tho vast areas of Utah nnd western Colorado to development and that its lines ponetrate into the heart of tho new oil shale country. The D. & R. G. literature lit-erature claims that Utah and Colorado are on the crest of an undreamed of wealth in agriculture, copper, oil shale, coal and other resources. rtn
