Show ' Chicago QsMaiioHS v j CHICAGO, Nov. 20, Predictions of a decided increase of receipts tended today to weaken the corn market. The predictions were based chiefly on the largo number pf car permits which had been issued of lale. Forecasts of more favorable weather for husking and for moving the crop acted as a bearish influence. in-fluence. Opening prices, which ranged from a to lc Jower, wJth December 129 to 129 2 and January 131 to 131J wore followed by moderate further declines de-clines and tnen by something of a rally. Oats as veli as corn Jacked support. Op the other hand, most commission houses had selling orders. After opening open-ing Jc to lc lower, with December Decem-ber 7414 to 74c, the market receded still further beforo beginning to react. Higher quotations on hogs put firmness firm-ness intp provisions. Trading, however, was nearly at u standstill. Subsequently, covering by shorts lifted the January delivery to a new high level for tho crop, but the rally was not of a lasting sort. Prices closed unsettled, 1 to 2V:C pet lower, with Decomber 129 ',4 to 129 Vi and January 131 to 131 Vi. In later transactions, the gains were not fully upheld. Liberal shipments, though, aided in averting any sharp decline. CHICAGO MARKETS. Open High Low Close Corn Dec. 1.29 1.31 1.28 1.29 Jan. 1.31 1.34 Vi 1.30 1.31 Oats-Dec.
