BEATTY PROTESTING ' BY OGDEN ON TIE QUARANTINE i Tliis afternoon at 2 o'clock the members mem-bers of tho boards of health of tho city and county, together with the city and county commissioners and tho members mem-bers of the emergency health committee, commit-tee, will meet in the council chamber at the city hall to confer with Dr. T. 3, Beatty, sLite secretary of the board of health. , It is understood that 'Dr. Beatty deems Ogdcn's procedure with regard to Salt Lake City, since the lifting of the ban in the latter placo, as "going l'nthei too far." Opinion among business men this morning was emphatic as to the difficulty diffi-culty which Dr. Beatty will face in an attempt to ' explain his contradictory utterances. The police of tho city, aided by spc-j clal officers and the school teachers acting under instructions from tho board of health, aro guarding the railway rail-way stations and the roads entering Ogden and seeing to it that none are admitted from Salt Lake City without boing in possession of tho necessary ho.alth permit. Dr. Beatty, in addressing a meeting at tho city hall this afternoon, most emphatically announced his disapproval disap-proval of tho Ogdon quarantine and also of the rule employed hero in the wearing of masks. "The mask," said Dr. Beatty, "is absolutely harmful." Ho cited as an instance tho case of Seattle, Washington, where he said there were but one -third as many cases as in San Francisco where the masks were worn. |
