Show All Utah Invited to Reception for Colonel Lihdberg Iovitation was issued thi week to all the people of Utah, to attend the reception which will be tendered Colonel Charlei A. Lindbergh on his arrival in Salt Lake September 3 at 2 p.m. , Colonial Lindbergh will come to Salt Lake from Cheyenne. Wyo. A large number of committees have been appointed by Mayor C. C, Nes- len of Salt Lake to handle the huge throng that is expected to attend the celebration at the air. field northwest of Salt Lake and the Liberty park program. Colonial Lindbergh will come in his plane the "Spirit of St. Louis," the machine used by him in his record flight from New York to Paris'. The airplane will be on display during dur-ing the time the flying colonel is in Salt Lake. On his arrival Colonel Lindbergh will be met by the reception committee commit-tee and escorted to a central place in the field, where he will be served with light refreshments. From here' he will be escorted east on North Temple street to the corner of West and North Temple streets, where he will be turned over to the parade committee. commit-tee. The parade will form at this point, march east to Main street, south to Ninth South and east to Liberty park. On the trip from the field to the park, Colonel Lindbergh will ride on the tonneau of a large automobile in a specially constructed seat. 8o that as many as possible may see him. In the evening a meeting will be held in the Tabernacle at which Colonel Col-onel Lindbergh, Governor Dern, Congressman Con-gressman Leatherwood and Mayor Neslen will be speakers. Colonel Lindbergh will speak 15 minutes, in all probability telling of his epoch making mak-ing flight.. Special excursion train will be run over the various electric lines going ir.to Salt Lake and two special trains will be run to the air field by the Saltair Beach company. These trains will in all probability leave at 12:30 and 1 p.m. The tabernacle meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. and the Liberty park celebration cel-ebration about 3 p.m. |
