Show SETTING COLORS In these days of unsatisfactory dyes perhaps some one will be helped by this: The safest way to set colors is to do so before washing. For browns, blacks and pinks use 1 cup salt to gallon water. Soak goods in this mixture for a few hours. For blues, use cup vinegar to every gallon of water. Soak a few hours. For lavender, use 1 tablespoonful sugar of lead to 1 gallon of water. Soak goods a few hours. Using the proper "fixer" for the proper color will glvo excellent results. |
