Show Theatres AT THE ALHAMBRA The lovable Marguerite Clurk is to bo seen at tho Alhambra theater to-dav, to-dav, tomorrow and Wednesday In the third of the series of picturos entitled "Bab's Diary." Although this 1b a ser- ial. each picture Is complete, so those who missed tho first two will be in no wise at a disadvantage In seeing the present one. This particular ono is called A Matinee Idol" and it depiots most humorously hu-morously and realistically tho horo-worahlp horo-worahlp of i 17-year-old girl for certain cer-tain tylos of men. The story is delightful de-lightful and very amusing all the way through. The dainty Marguerite, one of tho most popular of all the scrcon favorites. Is at her best in this role of a school girl. It is needless to tell the story and enough la said whon it is stated that "A Matinee Idol" concerns the harmless scrapes tho girl Babs gets into in her adoration of this actor. She gets several other persons Into tho scrape but that is incidental to the troublo the little lady goes through. A reel of pictures Is shown depicting depict-ing scenes and activities in the Hawaiian Hawai-ian Islands. Especially worthy of mention men-tion is the part showing the volcano Kilauea and the molten lava boiling and steaming In the crater of this natural nat-ural wonder, one of tho greatest in the world. AT THE COZY Manager Stock of tho Cozy theater Is offering a most interesting program today and tomorrow to his patrons, the foaturo picture being Bryant Washburn Wash-burn and Hazel Daly In a pleasing comedy entitled "Skinner's Baby." Those who have aeon tho subsequent comedies concerning the trials and tribulations of this same man Skinner, will enjoy thlo ono, as it is said to bo the best one presented hero. The tenth episode of "Tho Fighting Trail 1b also shown and this serial is atttractlng a liberal patronage, aB tho crowded house last night testiQos. A brief synopsis of the feature for today and tomorrow Is as follows: After Skinner sees tho uttor Joy of the head bookkeeper In tho office, who has Just bocome a proud father, ho realizes that he is missing Ufo's greatest great-est pleasure. This realization deepens on his way home that evening as he sees othor people joyously fondling their babies, and even an old hen hap-1 pily clucking to her young. Ho talks the matter over with Honey. Some time later the adoring little Honey conQdes her great secret to her wonderful won-derful boy, who goes Into an ecstacy of delight. Immediately thoy begin elaborate elab-orate plans for him, for, of course it will be a boy. The day of tho great event, Skinner gots first news of the little stranger's arrival via telephone and proudly announces the arrival of William Manning Skinner, Jr., to the office. Everybody rushes out to buy presents and gets to the house as quickly as the new father himself, with toy guns, hobby horses and everything else a baby boy could wish. Alas, though, It is a baby girl. But Honoy and Skinner happily decide that a girl should be the first born, anyway. nn |
