Show LOTTERY li ClOIIlj OPPOSED B L& EMITS , At the morning meeting of the city commissioners, held at the city hall, a protest was handed lo the commissioners commis-sioners against the so-called Roberts system of tailoring. Tho Roberts system sys-tem is similar to a system which was stopped two years ago by the city legislation, leg-islation, according to local clothing concerns. The patrons of the company, make payment at intervals, said to bo, seven days apart, and once each week a drawing is held and a certain member mem-ber of the club gets a suit of clothes for tho amount of money paid to the concern at tho time his number Is drawn from the box. In this manner some patrons receive a suit for the amount of tho first payment while others pay the full amount or drop from the club, according to the explanation expla-nation of local tailors. Tho protest was signed by oightcen clothers and dry goods firms. The Roberts system of tailoring deals with both mens' and and womens clothing. The petition was referred to a com-j miitec.
