Show uu ' l U. S. AMBULANCES , GOING TO ITALY t PARIS, Nov. 20. An American am-, bulance section of twenty-five cars was started for Italy yesterday by the" American Red Cross. One train of twenty-four cars loaded with hospital supplies and clothing has already crossed the Italian frontier and a train j of twenty-one cars loaded with food will leave within a few days. Major Grayson II. P. Murphy, the European commissioner for the Red Cross, will remain in Italy until the American Red Cross work there is thoroughly organized. Other Red Cross officials, who are already in Italy or on their way there, include Ernest P. Bicknell, director general of civilian relief of the American organization, who handled the Red Cross relief work after tho Messina earthquake, Carl Taylor, deputy commissioner of the American Red Cross in Italy, in charge1 of the legal advices bureau and Ed-i ward T. Devine of tho bureau of I refugees. |
