Show vu UTAH STUDENTS ST MUM PfWPMf DAVENPORT, Iowa, Nov. 4, At a joint conference of tho East Iowa and Northern Illinois conferences of the Mormon- church, held in-thls city last TFnttday, a prominent pan was taken by Utah slnieuajirtlic Palmer School! of Chh'Rcticiu"!! The invocation in-vocation was by ARieriTJIalr of Ogden, one of the addresses was by w. E. H&vcklns of Salt Lakv vocal solos by Mm. -W. W. Seare of Salt Lake and Mrs. W. H. Pyott of Ogden were accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Pyott'sv sinter, Mrs. H. J. McKay of Ogden, all three being wlvw-of 3tudenta. Dr. W. H. Pyott o Ogden conducted the congregational sing.'ng and O. L. Read of Ogden played play-ed the piano accompaniment. Members Mem-bers here of the Relief society met Sunday evening at tho homo of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Eardley of Salt Lake and jdccidod.to petition for the right to serve as a separate' unit In assisting the Red Cross work. The conference iwas attended by about twenty mission- arles. working in those two confer-I confer-I onces, and also by about 100 other students stu-dents of the P. S. C. In response to special invitation extended by students from Utah who are members of the Mormon church During tho week H. W. Roberts of Ogden and Arthur W. Olson of Hyrum increased the Utah colony here by en rolling as students at the Palmer school. Fred Call and Marion Thur-man Thur-man of Afton, Wyo former students id the B. Y. C. in Logan, also havo taken up the study of chiropractio at the Palmer school. Mr. and Mrs. George J. -Dupont of Salt Lake wore hero last Svrnday on thoir way homo from Massachusetts by automobile. Thoy expect to reaoh home within another week. |
