OH FRIDAY As a token of the respect and deep esteem in which the members of the Second ward hold their former bishop, Robert McQuarrie, they plan on having an old time social for him next Friday Fri-day night. The meeting has been arranged ar-ranged as a special session of eulogy and song, with dancing and refresh ments forming tho entertainment features. fea-tures. During the evening, a purse will be presented to Bishop McQuarrie as a special token of respect. The social is also tendered to his two faithful counsellors. George Shorten and C. J. A. Lindquist. During the fifty-four years Bishop McQuarrie has served as the head of the Second ward, he has endeared himself him-self to the people by deeds of kindness and words of advice and counsel that can never be repaid In words. His example ex-ample has been the guiding star of many a youth who has grown up to manhood, and this sociable is felt to be but a small testimonial to the deep reverence In which the bishop Is held by all who know him. Arrangements for the affair are under un-der the direction of the executive committee, com-mittee, composed of Bishop George E. Browning, W. E. Newman, E. J. Jones and Alva L. Scoville. |
