Show WORLD'S MARKETS NEW YORK, Feb. 28. The erratic course of special stocks provoked considerable con-siderable irregularity at the opening of today's market. Atlantic Gulf, Central Cen-tral Leather, Republic Iron and Sumatra Su-matra Tobacco were lower by 1 to 2 points while Baldwin Locomotive rose 1 and Crucible Steel, Great Northerr Ore and Mexican Petroleum were substantially sub-stantially higher. United States Steel eased slightly but soon rallied. Ralls were dull and uncertain, St Paul preferred pre-ferred dropping 1 points. Liberty bonds were firm. The market's tone remained rather mixed throughout the morning, Steels, Coppers, Oils and Motors reflecting constant pressure. Marino preferred strengthened and Atlantic Gulf recovered recov-ered its early decline, likewise St Paul preferred, but other representative representa-tive issues showed no definite trend. A few specialties, Including Mexican Petroleum and Corn Products suggested suggest-ed further pool activity. Liberty 3's sold at ?97.SG to 97.46, first 4's at 97.20 and second 4's at 96.50 to 96.62. Somo of the active issues such as General Motors, Bethlehem Steol, Studebaker and Sumatra Tobacco sagged sag-ged again at Midday but the gneral list rallied later.
