Show 1 GAME OF WITS" A scintillating bit of comedy that gives Miss Gail Kanp the right sort of opportunity for her funny vein of double entendro, is "A Game of Wits," newest American -Mutual screen offering, of-fering, scenarloized from a clever story by Dan P. xWhitcomb, coming Thursday. Miss Kane seems right at home in tho role of a pretty rich girl, whoso father is being "squeezed" in a tight market by a wicked old financial sinner sin-ner named Stone. Stone wants to marry the pretty girl as the price of ' letting Pa out of his tolls, and Pa I turns the proposition down with in-I in-I dlgnation. Hero is where Miss Kane, as the pretty girl, shines most conspicuously. She trots th6 amorous old ape from Wall Street so many giddy heats up and down mountains, and feeds him so many courses of rich meats, that ore long his weary spirit surrenders and he flies tho coop. Then Miss Pretty Pret-ty Girl makes him pay her 100,000 for balve and she marries the man of her choice. The little drama has all sorts of funny twists and turns that are peculiarly pecu-liarly "Gall Kanoish." |
