SURPRISE PARTY. y Mrs. Heber Follcman was the recip- 1 1 ient of a delightful surprise party last II .Wednesday afternoon, the officers and fl teachers of the Thirteenth ward Relief HI society spending the afternoon pleas- yj antly. The affair was given as a fare- U , well party for Mrs. Folkman, who left jj , Ogden today for Jemore, 111., where she will join her husband, who is in business there. The ladies presented Mrs. Folkman with a lovely basket of spring flowers as a token of esteem and friendship. JUNIOR PROM. April 17 is the date set for the Weber college junior prom this year and the large affair will be given in the Berthana. This year's event will probably outclass any other and arrangements ar-rangements are now being made. Invitations In-vitations will be issued within the next day or so and the following students have been selected to act on the invitations in-vitations committee: For Weber students: Josephine Vol-ker, Vol-ker, Myrtle Peterson, Kenneth Schade, Theron Jones, Phil Jeppson, Vilte Jacogs; for high school students: Paul Hinckley, Grate Stone, Vera Malan, Georgie Tate; for persons outside of the two schools: Bernice Petty, Tom Browning, Frank Newman, Merddyn Roberts, Jetta Cartensen. Anyone desiring an invitation to the affair should apply to any member of the above committee not later than April 6. ENGAGEMENT. Mrs. H. John Edward Carver spoke briefly, and presented Miss Hall with gifts from her neighbors -and relatives. Last Sunday the Presbyterian church gave Miss Hall a part in the morning service. serv-ice. Miss Hall is the second to go to France as Red Cross nurse from that church, the other being .Miss Sharp, who sailed this week from New York ih the first company of nurses sent and equipped by the government. Miss Hall will have charge of an operation department "over there." She was in charge of the operation rooms for a time at Saint Mark's, after which she became -head-nurse. |
